Tour Features
Day 1: Welcome to Africa's Safari Capital, Nairobi
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel for your overnight stay. This historic and recently refurbished hotel boasts charming, elegant interiors and a warm ambience, making it an ideal retreat during your stay in Nairobi. Enjoy a delightful dinner and a restful night’s sleep in this welcoming setting.
Day 2-3: Spot huge herds of elephants against the backdrop of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Amboseli
This area is home to Africa’s second-highest mountain. Its snow-capped peaks provide water to the springs and shallow pans of Amboseli National Park. These water pans, in turn, support the diverse wildlife that inhabits the dusty plains. Amboseli is famous for hosting some of the largest elephant herds in Kenya, and research on elephant behaviour is conducted in this park. The wildlife corridors here allow animals to migrate when the dry season becomes unbearable. The Maasai people in Amboseli wear blue clothing, which distinguishes them from their red-clad counterparts in Maasai Mara. Enjoy your stay at the Tawi Lodge!
Day 4- 5: Ancient Baobab Trees and huge herds of elephants at Tarangire National Park.
After breakfast, your safari guide will pick you up and drive you towards Namanga. Following the completion of visa formalities, you will be transferred by road to Arusha, where you can enjoy a hot lunch before catching a flight to Tarangire National Park.
This park is renowned for its gigantic baobab trees, some over 1,000 years old, and the large herds of elephants. Tarangire National Park covers a total area of 2,850 square kilometres, providing ample space for game drives. There is a high concentration of wildlife along the Tarangire River, especially during the dry season, as it is the only source of water in the park.
Wildlife species you may encounter include lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, olive baboons, waterbucks, impalas, vervet monkeys, African wild dogs, elands, caracals, honey badgers, and many others.
Day 6-7: Explore the largest caldera in the World, Ngorongoro Crater
This morning, you will embark on a scenic drive to the largest caldera in the world: the Ngorongoro Crater. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is an excellent destination for a game drive, as it is home to a diverse array of wildlife species. To fully explore its inhabitants, it is recommended to take a full day for the game drive. You can enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pools while soaking in the breathtaking views of the vast caldera. Ngorongoro offers incredible experiences that provide insights into wildlife behaviour and habits.
Day 8-9: Thrilling Wildlife Encounters at Serengeti National Park
Departing from Ngorongoro, you will fly to the Serengeti National Reserve, renowned for its outstanding game viewing opportunities. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch before embarking on your first game drive across the expansive plains. The Serengeti is home to the Big Five and a variety of other wildlife, including cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, and more. From March to July, you can witness the spectacular wildebeest migration, where millions of wildebeests, zebras, and other herbivores traverse the park, drawing numerous predators. The Serengeti’s diverse habitats and dynamic wildlife promise an exhilarating safari experience.
Day 10-12: Explore huge concentration of wildlife at Maasai Mara Game Reserve:
Today, you will be transferred by air to Kenya’s finest wildlife destination. Everything about this reserve is exceptional. The wildlife is abundant, and the gently rolling grasslands ensure that animals are always visible. There is also a rich diversity of birds, with over 450 species recorded, including 57 species of birds of prey. The climate is mild, rarely too hot, and there is a consistent pattern of rainfall throughout the year, typically occurring in the late afternoon or at night.
Spend your days exploring the rolling hills and plains for opportunities to spot black-manned lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, and buffalo, along with various species of hoofed animals. You can also enjoy fascinating facts about the Maasai culture and witness traditional dances. Engage with the local people to gain insight into their way of life. Between July and October, during the great wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, the experience is unparalleled. No other place in the world witnesses such an immense movement of animals, as over two million wildebeest migrate from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to the greener pastures of the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.
