Kgalagadi

EXTRAORDINARY SAFARIS

Overview:

Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park extends to Kalahari Gemsbok National Park situated in South Africa. The unique red sand dunes are an attractive scenery for many tourists. Having Kgalagadi tours and safaris itinerary helps you to have an outstanding trip.

Brief history and geography of the Kgalagadi

Kgalagadi is the actual definition of a magnificent wilderness. Initially, the Gemsbok National Park in Botswana and South Africa were split but easy to navigate without a fence. In 1999 both countries agreed to form the first global trans-frontier Peace Park giving birth to the Kgalagadi. The park stretches over 38,000km², a gigantic preserve. The best time to tour the Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park is from March to May.  From May to September it is perfect for watching wildlife. Kgalagadi refers to “place of thirst.” The park location is in the arid of the southern Kalahari Desert.

Wildlife in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

The majority of animals found here are predators. Unfortunately, if you are hoping to spot the buffalo, elephant, or rhino, this is not the place. Cape fox, bat-eared fox, brown and spotted hyena, lion, leopard, servals, black-backed jackals, wild dogs, caracals, and cheetah are cats based in Kgalagadi Park. Kgalagadi comprises sparse vegetation, dry river beds of Autoband Nossob stream, and sporadically trees. Spot the creatures quenching their quenching thirst at the riverbeds. The Park also hosts several kinds of antelope; springbok, gemsbok, wildebeest, red hartebeest, and eland. Hundreds of fowl species and giraffes can be viewed. Animals can freely move without impediment. Take a rewarding invariable Botswana Safari to explore the prolific laughter of the hyenas. Tortoise, ostriches, Mongoose, and Meerkats are other residents of the space.
