Day 1: Welcome to the Safari Capital, Nairobi
We shall welcome you with a cold glass of champagne at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Set between Nairobi National Park and the foot of the Ngong Hills, Hemmingway’s Nairobi is an exclusive boutique hotel far from central Nairobi. Day 2-3: Discover huge herds of elephants at Amboseli National Park
Fly from the lush, green plateau of Nairobi to the expansive, dusty plains of Amboseli National Park. Known for its impressive herds of elephants and a diverse array of big cats, Amboseli offers an exceptional wildlife experience. The park’s stunning backdrop, with its sweeping views of the savannah and the iconic silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance, provides a perfect setting for capturing memorable photographs. Amboseli National Park will be your base for the next two nights, allowing you ample time to immerse yourself in its unique environment and explore the rich tapestry of wildlife that thrives here.
Day 4–5: Rhino haven at Lewa Downs Conservancy
This morning we shall chatter flight to the expansive Laikipia plateau, transfer to our camp for the next 2 nights. Lewa downs Conservancy initially started as a protected area for rhino but has now grown to be one of the most conserved and protected areas in Kenya and beyond. It is hosts to all kinds of wildlife species including the big five and Grevy’s Zebra and even the most sought after wild dogs. It also plays hosts to one of the greatest marathons on earth.
Day 6-8: Large Wildlife Concentration at Masai Mara Game reserve
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your flight to the Masai Mara, East Africa’s premier wildlife reserve. Once you arrive, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the savannah and its diverse inhabitants, including the Big Five and thousands of herbivores. From July to October, the reserve hosts the spectacular wildebeest migration, often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world.
Enjoy a sundowner with cocktails at your camp, or opt for a balloon safari to take in aerial views of the plains. Experience the vibrant beats of African drums and the nighttime sounds of the Mara. Over the next two days, you will search for black-manned lions, rhinos, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, and leopards, witnessing thrilling wildlife action, including hunts that are often signaled by vultures. Spend your nights under the canvas for an unforgettable experience.
Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, fly back to Nairobi the city in the sun. Enjoy lunch at the Karen coffee gardens. Visit the endangered Rothschild giraffe and feed them by hand. Later enjoy a visit to the Karen Blixen museum home of the author of Out of Africa. Later we shall transfer to the airport for your flight home
